Remembering the 3M

If you are struggling each day, remember the 3 Ms which is beneficial for your overall health.

Movement - https://youtu.be/hdcTmpvDO0I Apologies for digressing, the title reminds me of this song from the movie Madagascar. Do practice a habit of some form of movement each day. Aim for at least 30 minutes of moderate physical activity each day. If you want to lose weight, maintain weight loss or meet specific fitness goals, you may need to exercise more. Some suggestions: brisk walking, running, skipping, yoga, dancing. There are plenty of apps and YouTube channels for workouts at home as well. With working from home, we tend to sit for long stretches at a time. If you can't fit in one 30-minute walk during the day, try a few five-minute movements instead.

Mindfulness - Being mindful means paying attention / being aware to everything that is going on around you. Practice awareness by observing, listening, and appreciating more intentionally. Breath work is one way of resetting your mind and slowing down. Take in a deep breath, pause for a second or two and breathe out through your mouth as if through a straw. Meditation is another work; you may opt to try meditation or guided mindful meditation a few minutes a day. There are some really good apps out there such as Insight timer, Headspace, Calm, Satva, and you may also find them on YouTube. Personally, I would begin with EFT tapping to calm any nerves -worry, anxieties, worries etc for a few rounds and then meditate on my own , or use Insight timer on days I find it hard to focus.

Mindset - Be aware of your thoughts. It is easy to start with a negative thought and see it spiral out of control real fast. Begin the day as positively as possibly; as soon as you are awake, observe three things around you that you are grateful for - the sounds, the sensations, smell / sight. Then, set an intention for the day. Imagine the mind as a place you rule your world, after all it directs your body to move, breathe, speak etc. Focus on how you would like your day to be, and if you want to, tap on the points to set the intentions and affirmations firmly in place "It is a new day, I embrace this day with ease. I am open to having a wonderful day, filled with opportunities, being fully productive and I allow creativity and wisdom to be my guide". Make your own positive affirmations as you go along.

Start your day right and it sets the quality of your entire day. Make this a routine and you will find that you are able to manage your days better in a calm and grounded manner.
